BAS151Physics Lab (Engineering Physics Laboratory)

The Physics Lab (BAS151) accompanies BAS101 Engineering Physics and translates its theory into measurement: interference and diffraction experiments (Newton's rings, biprism, grating) build optical measurement skill, while the electricity/magnetism/solid-state experiments (Carey Foster bridge, Hall effect, hysteresis, band gap) introduce instrumentation used throughout the engineering curriculum.

  • Minimum requirement: any ten experiments across the session, with at least four performed from each of Group A (Optics) and Group B (Electricity/Magnetism/Solid State), as per the official scheme.
  • Assessment: Continuous Assessment 10, End Semester Examination 15, Total 25 marks, 1 credit.
  • Lab record: every experiment must be written up with aim, apparatus, theory, procedure, observation table, calculation, result and precautions/sources of error.
